What happened at this event?

This event was the 44th annual London to Brighton historic commercial vehicle run.  Two hundred vehicles took part ranging from steam vehicles to fire engines and delivery vans.  And, of course, buses.

We took the open-top Bristol 'K' type, GHT127, appropriately painted in Brighton, Hove and District livery.

The event iwas organised by the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society (HCVS).

The run started in Crystal Palace Park, London with vehicles departing between 07.00 and 09.00 hrs.  The route is via the A214 to Streatham Common and then the A23 to Crawley where there was a halfway stop at Broadfield Stadium.  After that the vehicles diverted off the main road through various Sussex villages before returning to the A23 and continuing to Brighton.

Vehicles were on display at Madeira Drive in Brighton as they arrived, with an awards presentation at 16.00 hrs.
